A Humanitarian Vacation is more than a trip—it’s a chance to make a real impact while experiencing the culture and warmth of the Dominican Republic. Work alongside families to build homes, deliver aid, and support community projects, witnessing firsthand the joy and gratitude of those receiving a safe home, a warm meal, or new opportunities.

You'll stay in comfortable accommodations atop our Community Center in Javillar, Puerto Plata, with easy access to all humanitarian projects. The Starfish Center sleeps 16 people. A Hub for Humanitarian Work
The Dominican Starfish Foundation Community Center is the heart of our outreach efforts, serving as a safe space for families and a hub for humanitarian work. It hosts medical clinics, food distributions, skills training, educational programs, and volunteer initiatives—all designed to uplift and empower communities.

This center is open to partners, humanitarian organizations, and mission groups looking to expand their impact. Whether you are a medical team, church group, or humanitarian organization, this space provides the infrastructure and support needed. Medical & Service Missions
Bringing Care to Those in Need
Access to quality healthcare is a luxury for many families in the Dominican Republic, but together, we can change that reality. Through our Medical & Service Missions, we partner with dedicated doctors, dentists, chiropractors, and healthcare professionals to bring essential medical care, dental services, and wellness programs to those in need.

In collaboration with iHELP, we are expanding the medical arm of the Dominican Starfish Foundation through the Friends of Health Medical Project. This initiative provides ongoing medical consultations, medications, and follow-up care to refugee communities and local schools, ensuring that families receive sustainable, long-term healthcare solutions.
During our most recent mission, our partnership brought medical care and health education to more than 450 patients in refugee communities. With the continued support of volunteers and medical professionals, we are committed to strengthening and enabling sustainable healthcare resources for these underserved populations.
