Friends of Health Medical Project

Overview: The Friends of Health project gives free medical consultations and medications to people in camps and a local school, tackling health issues like chronic diseases and infections.

Objectives:

  1. Provide medical consultations to 800+ patients monthly.

  2. Give out free medications.

  3. Make healthcare more accessible for marginalized communities.

  4. Lower sickness and death rates.

Scope:

  • Duration: One year

  • Visits: 96 (8 per month)

  • Locations: Camps (Batey Balaguana, Batey Loma Blanca, Batey Libertad, Batey Lagrua) and Youth Upliftment School

  • Team: Three doctors and one nurse

  • Services: Consultations and medications

Budget: Total: $5,000 + $5,000 for expansion

  • Transportation: $2,400

  • Medical supplies: $3,600

  • Medications: $2,800

  • Staffing: $600

  • Miscellaneous: $600

Evaluation:

  • Number of patients served

  • Quality of medical services

  • Patient satisfaction

  • Improvement in healthcare access

  • Reduction in sickness and death rates

Sustainability:

  • Work with local healthcare providers

  • Train local healthcare workers

  • Set up a referral system

  • Fundraising and donor support

  • Integrate with existing healthcare systems
