One of the mandates of Dominican Starfish Foundation is to assist with Health and Wellness. Our very first fundraiser in 2011 (before we were even a foundation) was and emergency medical situation. We have been helping with emergencies and critical care ever since. We would love to have a permanent fund so that when these emergencies arise, we have the funds to assist.

Eliezer: Received crucial medical care as a 14-month-old burn victim. Now a healthy young man.
Maria, Patricia, Luis Geronimo, and Mundo: Received prosthetic legs in partnership with Latter-day Saint Charities.
Darling Joel Vasquez: Saved from foot amputation through surgery and donations.
Juliedy: (Age 13) Received a prosthetic eye thanks to funds raised by children. She lost her eye in a playground accident at age 8.
Multiple Recipients (COVID-19 Pandemic): Funds raised in 2020 for various treatments, including a kidney transplant, brain surgery, broken limbs, cancer, and heart surgery.
Jovanna: Underwent back surgery for severe scoliosis due to donations from the foundation.

The Dominican Starfish Foundation is making a significant impact by providing urgent medical care for babies in need. They have supported numerous medical emergencies, ensuring that infants receive the necessary treatments and care.
Recently we helped this sweet baby who was born with a growth on her neck with life-changing results.
This sweet baby had 5 surgeries the first 5 months of his life. Faced with enormous medical bills the grandma reached out to Dominican Starfish Foundation for help. We were able to raise a significant amount to help them.
For the past 14 years we have been raising funds, case after case for emergency medical needs. It is our dream and goal to have a permanent fund that we can draw from when these urgent needs arise.
